October 2008 Giveaway #2
Is it too early for a Holiday Giveaway? You might have seen these sweet little cards from Leanin’ Tree here a while back. The portfolio set contains 12 holiday cards (3 each of 4 designs) and printed envelopes.

Now’s your chance to win a set! Just leave a comment answering the following question and you’ll be entered. I’ll draw a name at random on Monday, October 20. You’ve gotta answer the question to be entered…
If you could work/create anywhere in the world for one year, where would it be and why? Optional bonus question: What would you focus on creating?

I would love to work in Guatemala, where my husband is from because we would be close to his family and I would get to know them as well. If I could create anything, I would probably sit with the indigenous people and watch them do their weaving and see if I could learn to weave the beautiful, colored tapestries that they make.

Hi BJ!!!
These cards look wonderful….love the tropical holiday appeal….
and now for the question…(by the way…I love that you add this to all your giveaways….very neat)
If I could work anywhere in the world for one year I would love to work in Paris, France….I would focus more on my fine art and paint each and every day there …not to mention I would take a few art classes there and just being around all the culture and living streets would be a wonderful experience….then there is my love of food and merging it with art…so I think Paris would help me also further myslef in creating masterpieces in the kitchen….baking, cooking, painting….and walking around from one pâtisserie to another would make each and every day a sweet one….and you know I love my sweets….these places would inspire a whole series of paintings…..I would add to my “Sweet Escapes” series and paint and enjoy each and every day of 365 days….
Thanks for this post….you are helping me focus on me more…
Hugs

I would move back to Korea and work/create there. Many fabrics are printed there, which is great for my creating. Also, there are so many beautiful and inspiring tranquil settings. The holidays are different, the food is amazing and the lifestyle relaxed. The people there are absolutely wonderful. Sure, I don’t speak more than 7 or 8 phrases in Korean… but I do love it there. I would focus on my sewing and devote all the extra not-sewing time to drawing.
Those cards are cute and would be perfect for my family in Florida! ~jen~
