Wouldn’t this be a darling flag?  We have 2 all-black cats (black cats are the BEST) and one Tortie (Torties are witches!) so it always looks like Halloween around here.  We do keep them in that one night of the year.  They don’t like it much, but it gives me peace of mind!

This morning I put each commenter’s name on an individual piece of paper, put them all in a gift bag and had Captain Hubby pull out the winner before he left for work. Congrats, Diane – be sure to email me your address: bj@bjlantz.com.

I have to agree with Marlene & Elizabeth’s comments ~ I would probably go with just plain old pencil & paper. Then again, I’d need a sharpener too!!! But the real question is ~ what is Mary going to do with that oil crayon & sewing needle???!

In other “news”, I hope everyone had as nice a weekend as I did. Went to a blues festival downtown Friday night, had lunch at our favorite outdoor eatery at the inlet on Saturday and yesterday we went to the local photography museum before lunch at Cracker Barrel (I will confess to a love of their lemon-pepper trout). I made a big pot of chicken vegetable soup in the afternoon (I’ve got lunch for the week!). Isn’t cooking sometimes a form a meditation? It is for me anyway. Later, I couldn’t help myself from working just a little ~ I pulled out the sketch pad and just doodled for hours. I think I’ve put down some good foundations for some near-future designs ~ so I’d better get busy!
