Deck the Palms Giveaway!
So there I was, finally getting around to flipping through the Sunday sale papers and I come across one of my cards on sale at Beall’s. No matter how long I do this, it will always be a thrill to see my work in catalogs, sale papers and in stores.
Anyhoo, it put me of a mind that I should give away a box of those cute cards!
Just comment with the answer to this question and you’re entered!
Is there a certain time of day you feel more creative? Does it work with your schedule?
I’ll draw at random a winner and announce it end of day Tuesday, November 25.

I’m definitely more creative/alert in the late afternoon and evening. However, due to having a child in the school system and a conventional job, I’m forced to function in the mornings. I usually do my more “boring” stuff in the morning to get it over and done with, and leave my mental work or fun stuff for the afternoons.

Hi BJ!!! this is so wonderful….I know I get excited when I see your work anywhere too …so I can imagine how amazing it is for you….these cards are so cute!!!
I am creative all day long…in the mornings I get inspired by the outdoors and everything around me….in the afternoon I am in the middle of all kinds of projects…at night I am finishing off my creations and late late at night I am coming up with some new things to create….I love to create in the kitchen too…so that helps…when I get hungry and also helps when I need to feed my boys…lol
Have a wonderful day/night!!!
Hugs

Love the Christmas card design!
I’m definitely more creative in the morning — sometimes I wake up and the writing bursts out of me. Can’t get a thing done until I’ve finished. But it only works when I’m living alone. If someone talks to me, the spell is broken.
Usually that works with the schedule but not with the get-fit-by-taking-a-morning-walk regime. If only I could type and walk at the same time.

BJ,
Just discovered your blog and love it and your work!
I’m most creative in the morning but like others have mentioned, I don’t have the luxury of creating when I feel like it (my two little ones make sure of that!). I also come up with some great ideas when I am laying in bed at night just before I fall asleep and try to remember the next day what I came up with so I can sketch when I wake up.

hope i’m not too late to be entered…..i was so busy working, i haven’t been diligent with blogging! my most creative time of the day is absolutely in the early morning….if i’m not working by 9 am (must have worked-out, showered and eaten breakfast by then, too), then i feel the day is lost and i can’t possibly get anything done!
btw, loooooove the fall card on great arrow! have fun in europe, i’m very envious!!!!
take care,

Woops, forgot to answer the question… here is my answer. I think I’m more creative in the morning, but it doesn’t suit my schedule (I have a day job, still designing and illustrating but for another business) so I guess that mean that, by default, my most creative time is when I motivate myself to get in my studio after dinner. Deadlines help a lot but are definitely not necessary! Sometimes by the end of the day, the creativity is busting out of me and I can’t wait to get in there.
