I would absolutely be able to sleep. Each day I learn that cultivating peace is essential for life. Sleep is a God-given blessing allowing us to be refreshed for the next day's journey...and during this slumber it enables juices of imagination to evolve the previous day's busywork into wonderful expressions of creativity. No, my problem is once I am rested knowing how to focus and bottle all the ideas that spring forth! Your wonderful fabrics open a never ending fountain just waiting to be utilized!

HI BJ- When we lived in TX I had to paint in my bedroom, the easel was set up in a corner next to a t.v. tray where my paints sat. It drove me crazy. I couldn't stand having my bedroom by my studio, like you, I could never sleep. I create all night long in my sleep anyway and having my stuff there would be too much! LOVE your new fabric line, it's beautiful!

Love the collection!
As for sleep...of course I can sleep. I did if for years living in a studio in Astoria, Queens as a freelance artist. One look at all of my unfinished work would actually make me go right to sleep with hopes of doing it after I rested. Fortunately now I have a separate art studio which is much easier because at least when it is time to go to sleep I just close the door instead of having to push everything to the side to make room to lay down!

first of all, I am loving these designs...really pretty...it's just all so fresh and sunny and lemony (sorta Floridian I must say) it makes me happy, like a sunny day.

way back in the age of the dinasaurs I lived in a studio apartment with a murphy bed...I was in art school then and much messier in my youth than I am now (hah, oh so grown up and neat and tidy...not). My drawing table was only a foot or 2 from my bed and there were usually projects spread out across the other table too(another couple feet further away) but as much as my clutter (creative or otherwise) annoys me, it has always taken more than a mess to keep me from sleeping!

if I remember correctly, the only real negative to this setup was my cat walking across a palette with wet paint, then hopping straight onto my pillow.

It's been a while since I had time to do a little blog surfing . . . I didn't know you had done a fabric line! Congratulations!!!! Love that yellow and black colorway . . . but I'd really like to play with the whole fat quarter collection also. So, could I sleep amid my chaos? Probably just as well as not . . . it actually might be comforting to be surrounded by all my favorite things. If I have a project in progress I'm usually taking it to bed in my head anyway, so the room wouldn't really matter as much as the project. If you are ever looking for a pattern designer - let me know! - Marlene

I couldn't sleep in the same room with my studio. I'm too messy. I can't imagine having all those bits and pieces, art supplies, overflowing bulletin boards around me as I sleep. Since I'm blind as a bat without my glasses/contacts, I couldn't really see it all, but I'd know that it's there.
