Giveaway! Giveaway! Giveaway!

Did all those exclamation points get you excitied?!  They did me!!!!

I don’t know about everybody else out there, but I am ready for some warmer weather!  I know that living in Florida, I should not be whining, but I will anyway.  Like the rest of the country (and much of the northern hemisphere, it seems), we’ve had an exceptionally cold winter here. It’s all in what you’re accustomed to and, I am accustomed to temperatures much higher than they are right now.  Remind me I said this when I am posting that it is hot as Hades here in July & August….

So, here’s what you really want to know ~ what am I giving away!  I received a lovely box of samples from Toland the other day and since temperature is on everyone’s minds, I thought this fun, summery thermometer featuring my Citrus Toss art would be fun to offer. I’ve already stuck one to my kitchen window and every day urge that red line to go higher…

All you have to do to be qualified to win is comment with an answer to the following question:

What weird thing do you have in your studio, art space, sewing area, etc., that you use as a tool and couldn’t live without?

I’ll get you started ~ I have a chop stick.  When I took sewing lessons, my instructor gave me a chop stick and said it would come in handy, I thought, Yeah, OK, whatever, and tossed it in my bag.  I would now be lost without that chop stick!  There doesn’t seem to be a time I sew that it doesn’t come out for something, whether it is holding the fabric tight to the piping as it goes through the machine, or pushing a small piece through (so my precious fingers stay needle free) or poking a corner out…  So, what’s your weird, odd, strange tool?  I’ll draw a random winner on St. Patrick’s Day!

oh cool fact on the chopstick….in my sewing room I have a stipple brush that I use to turn small things out….it sound silly…but the brush hairs really help to grab fabric….but I think I will have to get a chopstick…that sounds great for turning really small things like think arms and legs on dolls….

    Have a wonderful day!!!

    Hugs

I simply have to have a BJ Thermometer for my house…that would be so fun. Well, let’s see, I have an old tooth brush I use to do splatter painting with, I have a piece of an old sponge to sponge backgrounds with, an old screen to create textures when I paint.

Hey, the Captain is in Orlando, says it has warmed up…arrived and was met by Mickey Mouse…don’t know why MM is at the Finance Forum with a bunch of corporate finance guys, but hey, it’s Orlando!

I leave in a few days…looking forward to vegging on the beach!

Not really weird… but I couldn’t live without my phone earpiece! Started using one about four years ago, have replaced twice, and I never answer the phone without it! It’s even the old fashioned over-the-head kind! Love it: great for multi-tasking and those endless hold times.
Hey, I’ve won twice this year: maybe this will be my lucky three!

good morning B.J. – this makes my mouth water, so (or shall I say “sew”) citrus-y.
Hmm, wierdest thing is I suppose an empty tp roll. It make fabulously imperfect circles when dipped in paint and used as a stamp.

This is a fun question! I thought I would answer, because I simply need to have the thermometer in my home or yard! I’ve been eating an orange a day for the last 4 weeks! and counting…must have that thermometer!

My strange tool is: a suture knife. It is a VERY sharp curved blade that is used to cut away sutures! I use it for ripping out seams when I sew.
